Faith is seeing God’s hand at work in the past.

Burst into songs of joy together,
you ruins of Jerusalem,
for the LORD has comforted his people,
he has redeemed Jerusalem.
The LORD will lay bare his holy arm
in the sight of all the nations,
and all the ends of the earth will see
the salvation of our God.
Psalm 52:9-10

We left off in our thoughts last week dwelling on the ONE who WAS, and IS and IS TO COME.  This week let’s dwell on these three dimensions of time and let the floodgates of reality flow over us as we use FAITH, HOPE and LOVE to actualise them.

Faith is seeing God’s ‘hand’ at work in the past.

We apply our faith to all the handiwork of God in creation, to His hand on a particular people, to opening His hand to allow His Son to die for us.  ‘Hands that flung stars into space, to cruel nails surrendered’.  But there is more.  His hand reached down and lifted His Son from the grave and seated Him at His right hand.

Our Faith in the one who Was, enables us to see His purposes from the very beginning, in order for us to see the salvation of our God.
