Earnestly I seek you

Tomorrow is Fun Friday and Saturday I encourage you to encourage each other with messages.  For today and through the weekend I would ask you to spend some time with these verses and writings.

Build up a thirst! And on Sunday as you gather and Monday as we pick up this theme again you can drink deeply.

You, God, are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,
my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land
where there is no water.
I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory.
Psalm 63:1-2

Then I will go to the altar of God,
to God, my joy and my delight.
Psalm 43:4

The very sight of God causes delight. Hence he who sees God cannot be without delight.
(Thomas Aquinas)

Like the bee that sucks honey from all the wildflowers and will not use them for anything else, the soul easily extracts the sweetness of love from all the things that happen to her, that is, she loves God in them. Thus everything leads her to love always the delight of loving God.
(John of the Cross)

Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever.
(The Westminster Shorter Catechism)
